Ron has over 40 years of experience as a mental health practitioner starting as a psychotherapist who specialized in substance abuse, sexual assault, and PTSD. During his early career, he worked with soldiers returning from Viet Nam as well as law enforcement officers.
He was also on faculty at the Rutgers Summer School of Alcoholism Studies and ran workshops for healthcare professionals on human sexuality, establishing therapeutic relationships with patients impacted by sexual trauma, and working with high-risk patients. Ron also was a frequent lecturer at NYS substance abuse conferences and established the substance abuse prevention programs for the Mamaroneck, NY and Ridgefield, CT school districts.
After 15 years on staff at outpatient mental health clinics, he began to reflect on his own voyage and the impact he had on those he was working with. Ron soon realized his authentic passion and skill was to help empower people to become more aware of who they are, accept and celebrate their authentic self, and importantly, help them choose to act on a path to their overall wellbeing.
His private practice has helped people facing a diversity of issues such as family and workplace stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, substance abuse, PTSD, aging, intimacy, sexuality, gender identity, sexual and physical abuse, bullying, and most recently, the impact of Covid-19.
Ron encourages people to ask questions. It is important to recognize that you are in control of where you want to go on your life’s voyage. Ron is simply your navigator who counsels you on a path that helps you arrive with an enhanced overall wellbeing.
